Where the 5% goes

Where the 5% goes

Every order placed with ScrumClub puts five percent into research on the women's game. Not a launch campaign, not a one-off round-up at the till. A standing commitment, written into how the business runs and audited once a year.

Here's why it matters. For most of its history, rugby has been studied through men's bodies and men's data. Injury patterns, kit design, training load, the way the game acts on a female athlete over a season — all of it under-researched next to the men's game. You can't design properly for a player you haven't studied.

What the 5% funds

We're directing it at the gaps that affect players most directly:

  • Injury prevention — understanding how and where women pick up injuries in contact and training, so kit and protective wear can be built around real data.
  • Fit and protective wear — measurement and movement studies that feed back into how we draft Fem-Fit, rather than resizing a men's pattern.
  • Participation — what keeps women and girls in the game, and what pushes them out of it.

How we report it

Trust signals are easy to print and hard to keep. So we'll publish where the money went, here on the Journal, once a year. Plainly, with no rounding up into a nicer headline.

Every shirt, every hoodie, every pair of joggers chips in. That's the point — you don't have to do anything extra. Buy the kit, and you're already in.
